I’ve been playing drums since November 12th, 1997 and learned how to from a teacher named Dave Jennings. He was a great teacher and taught me to teach myself. Ironically though, it was never my intention to play the drums. Justin Schmedeke (of Sirens at Sunrise) actually asked me if I would learn how to play back in 1997 because he wanted to start a band and we were friends. With my dad’s approval I began lessons, and later formed the band 3crease with Schmed and Cheech. What great times!!!
After 3crease ended in 2001, I took a small break from playing in a band but continued jamming with Tim Day. We found that we had a great musical connection and later added Jason Yunker and Randy Assell to the mix. When Yunk left in March of 2007 I entertained the idea of not continuing in a band, had some jams with 3crease and started to focus on school. My main concern with being in a band is to ensure that we are all friends first and thankfully Guy stepped up. I’ve known Guy for about 10 years, and think he is a perfect addition to the band. My next musical goal is to play the Metro in Chicago.
Overall I’m a very laid back dude, and I absolutely love playing live and recording. I know I will play music forever and I am excited about this new line up in AP.
